RAOUL SERVAIS

The Ostend filmmaker Raoul Servais (1/5/'28-17/3/'23) is considered the father and pioneer of animated film in Belgium and has been an inspiration to animation filmmakers worldwide to this day.

He has won numerous awards, including a Golden Palm at the International Festival of Cannes, and founded the first animation film school in Ghent (KASK), the very first in continental Europe. His world-renowned oeuvre counts 15 animated short films and one feature film.
